Frequently Asked questions

How are the pools determinded?

Pools will be determined by the team ranking assessment which can be accessed by going to the team ranking tab. DUPR scores can be used in replacement of the team ranking assessment.

Each member fills out the assessment, points are assigned, and the average points of the members on your team will determine your team ranking. This ensures the pools have varying degrees of skill.

Can I Play as a Beginner?

Absolutely! The pools will be mixed, so you will play against people who are both more advanced and less advanced. This is a great tournament for meeting fellow pickleballers and advancing your skills!

How Can I Pay?

You may pay with cash, check, or by the methods below. If paying through Venmo or PayPal, please type in your team name in the "What is this for" box. This ensures I can mark you as paid, and the money will go to a separate bank account designated for the fundraiser.

How Long Will the Tournament Last?

I won't know the exact time, as some matches will last the full allotted time, while others might last 20 minutes. It also depends on how many teams sign up, so plan for all day.

What Should I Bring to the Tournament?

It will be hot. You may bring tents, folding chairs, battery powered fans, coolers, sweatbands, towels...etc.

Gatorade, granola bars, pickleballs for tournament, ice cooler, misting fan, scorecards, pencils/pens, and info/schedule(PDF) will be provided for players. We will also have a first aid kit.

Is the scorecard important?

The scorecard, as seen in the Mock Schedule, is important for determining two things. One, who immediately advances to the finals and two, it splits up any tie breakers within the winners of the pools.

Winners of each pool are determined by matches won, in the events two teams have an equal amount won, the scorecard will be used. Whichever team has the higher score, advances.

Do I have to fill out the team ranking?

In order to ensure each pool is mixed with varying skill levels, the team ranking helps me create an even bracket.

If you and your teammate have a DUPR ranking, you do NOT have to fill out the team ranking form.

What if it Rains?

I keep track of weather as much as I can and will call off the tournament two days in advance if it is looking like rain. In that event, the tournament will be rescheduled to July. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled match, I will issue a refund.
